Our Founders – It All Started In Rural AZ
It all started with a husband/wife vacation rental cleaning company in rural Arizona. Harry and Alisa Hollenbaugh started MTN CLEAN LLC in Pinetop-Lakeside, AZ in October of 2016. One evening after a joint decision and web design experience, Harry complimented Alisa’s extensive cleaning skills and experience with a website, that he stayed up all night creating start to finish. The very next day they both formed an LLC, filed their first EIN together and purchased all local business licenses. They lived in Snowflake, AZ at the time.
Just the Beginning
This husband and wife well-oiled machine would learn they would soon turn into the areas most avid serial entrepreneurs wanting to solve more and more problems in the vacation rental world for both housekeeping companies and hosts. Their schedules kept growing and STR clients continued to partner with them for housekeeping. Needing something to accommodate their growth they built a small piece of software called Gravity Sheets that connected WordPress to QuickBooks Time, but they found out they would quickly outgrow it. After outgrowing their first software Harry and Alisa decided to develop a complete platform called CleanliSense for housekeepers and hosts of vacations rentals. Their software is currently used in AZ, TX and VA and is available nation-wide.
Trash, Vacation Rentals and Housekeepers
Throughout the years guests have left plenty trash at vacation rentals and that will never stop. Thousands of trash bags were removed from vacation rentals by their cleaning company in cars and in their trucks. When we say thousands we mean thousands. Something had to change. Requiring housekeeping employees to use their personal vehicles to take trash had to stop! And it has!
Entrepreneur – Someone who wants to change the world and have a significant impact, who does not want to just build a company that simply creates another product or service. They fundamentally want to improve the aspects of peoples lives.
Garbago Was Born!
With the desire to create a change that is different than how most other trash companies help vacation rentals, Harry and Alisa decided to create a solution and purchased their very own 10yd satellite trash truck. They did not stop there though. They integrated Garbago with CleanliSense so housekeepers can notify in-app if there is trash or not. By integrating with CleanliSense they proved they can integrate with any property management or housekeeping software. Their desires and direction of services were introduced to the homeowners they worked with and their vision and services offered were immediately accepted as a viable service for vacation rentals. Within a very short period of time, Garbago placed their first large batch of concierge trash cans at vacation rentals and requested another delivery of cans and have been growing since!
Truly Creating Change – The First Smart Waste Bin For Vacation Rentals!
Picking up trash and integrating to various software companies was just not enough. Alisa and Harry wanted to provide something that would truly make an impact in trash collection. They wanted to introduce a solution like no other trash company or vacation rental trash company had to offer. They said “What if there was a way to know just how much trash was in the cans 24×7?”. Garbago LLC made that happen! Our company created the FIRST EVER residential smart waste bin for vacation rentals in the United States. We now have trash cans that can tell us “Hey! I’m full. Come empty me before the next guest arrives!” *Our sensors are not currently available in all areas due to local municipal requirements.
Much more to come! Alissa and Harry have high visions for Garbago LLC. They have already successfully partnered with and established local trash can valet services on the island of Galveston, TX. They have recruited a valuable partner in Galveston, Danny Krausnick runs the show there on the island. They will expand Garbago into other cities and states as they grow providing much needed services for the vacation rental industry of trash and residential related waste removal.
